What if my Worker's Comp doctor says I am fine but I am still in pain?
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, even doctors! Not all doctors may have the same opinion. It is always smart to get a second opinion if you don't necessarily agree with the first opinion. In Pennsylvania you are welcome and smart to get another opinion on your work injury case — especially if you're still in pain! I'm happy to give you another opinion. There is absolutely no charge. Can I see another doctor or get another opinion other than the doctor my employer sent me to?
The short answer is yes you can! Everybody is entitled to their opinion, even doctors! Not all doctors may have the same opinion. What if I don't have regular health insurance — can I still get treatment for my work injury?
Yes you can! Sometimes you are required to go to the doctor your employer/insurance company sends you to if you signed paperwork agreeing to that before you were hired. But even if you signed that paperwork you still can get an opinion from a different doctor. Not all doctors are willing to do that unless your case has already been accepted by the Workers' Compensation Court or Bureau. But I am happy to help regardless. Give us a call anytime. What is Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)?
That is just an opinion of one of your doctors. All doctors might not agree. It simply means that in their opinion no further treatment will get you any better, improve your pain, or give you a better quality of life. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, even doctors!
